Understanding, conserving, and restoring seagrass ecosystems in a changing environment
The Coastal Plant Ecology Lab at the University of North Carolina Wilmington studies how environmental change affects seagrass ecosystems. We combine field ecology, experiments, long-term monitoring, restoration science, and spatial analysis to generate information that supports effective coastal management.
Environmental Change
We examine how temperature, light, water quality, disturbance, and other environmental drivers affect seagrass growth, reproduction, and persistence.
